The Impact of Camp

Eliza Kelly, Houghton RFKC Volunteer

Camp is a safe place. Predictable and free. At camp, kids are free from labels like ‘high needs’ ‘delayed’ or ‘unfortunate.’ They’re not defined by their past, and they don’t hunger for special attention because there are adults everywhere all the time, eager to jump in, listen and spend time with them, to love them unconditionally.

Nancy Murphy, Houghton RFKC Director

Our campers have wounds. Their spirits, minds and bodies have suffered trauma and loss unlike anything most of us will ever experience. Yet, there is Hope: God Loves These Little Ones, and God Calls Us to Love Them with His Love.
