The Impact of Camp

Eliza Kelly, Houghton RFKC Volunteer

Camp is a safe place. Predictable and free. At camp, kids are free from labels like ‘high needs’ ‘delayed’ or ‘unfortunate.’ They’re not defined by their past, and they don’t hunger for special attention because there are adults everywhere all the time, eager to jump in, listen and spend time with them, to love them unconditionally.

Nancy Murphy, Houghton RFKC Director

Our campers have wounds. Their spirits, minds and bodies have suffered trauma and loss unlike anything most of us will ever experience. Yet, there is Hope: God Loves These Little Ones, and God Calls Us to Love Them with His Love.

Camp 2022

Camp is scheduled for July 10-15, 2022 at Asbury Retreat and Conference Center on Silver Lake

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are a kingdom of
priests, God’s holy nation, His very own possession.
This is so you can show others the goodness
of God, for He called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
